Azeco was founded in 2014 in the Netherlands to produce and supply the highest and purest quality azelaic acid available. From day one the focus was on purity levels, continuous availability and the technical and regulatory support that cosmetic brands need to bring products to market.
We developed and trademarked Azepur99®, a cosmetic grade azelaic acid with a purity above 99%. It is manufactured and handled according to ISO 9001:2015, obtained in a continuous process that eliminates batch-to-batch inconsistencies, and produced from European, 100% biobased and palm-free raw materials. Azepur99® is REACH compliant and COSMOS approved.
Building on the success of Azepur99®, we added T-pur99® tetrahydrocurcumin for brightening formulations and two microalgae actives: Lady Purple®, which won Gold for Best New Ingredient at the Pure Beauty Global Awards 2025, and the bioactivated phytocomplex TetraGold®.
In 2026 we extended our portfolio with three actives produced by Active Cells Biotechnology, an Italian company with more than 30 years of expertise in microbiology and enzymology: Amazia™, a violacein-based active for blemish-prone skin, BioMic™ Fermentate, a postbiotic anti-ageing active, and HydrActive™ Almond Oil, a bioactivated oil with clinically proven soothing and moisturising properties.
